Four health-inspired experiences to enjoy this Valentine's Day

Date: Feb 08, 2024    By: Genesis Fitness

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, which means it's the perfect time to 1) show how much you appreciate your loved ones and 2) cherish them. In this blog, we've compiled our favourite health-inspired activities to help you share the love.

1) Organise a wholesome picnic

Vitamin D + slow picnics in the park are a match made in heaven. So, we recommend getting your picnic on to ensure you're getting enough of both. Think a healthy charcuterie board topped with fresh fruits, and cheese.

Tip:

Don't forget to be sun smart and wear a hat.

2) Enjoy a timeless classic

Indulge in the oh-so-romantic pairing of chocolate + strawberries by selecting a high-quality dark chocolate with 70% or more cocoa content. Melt the chocolate and dip the strawberries for a fun and healthy treat that's best enjoyed in good company.

3) Embrace a new physical activity

Love physical activity? Pickleball is a great way to get your heart pumping and features two (or more) players. Or prefer to live on the slower side of life? Our Yoga classes are a great place to reconnect with yourself + your loved ones in a calm and tranquil environment.

Fun fact:

Bhujangasana - AKA the Cobra pose, is said to help open your heart and let love in by opening up the entire chest region to release congestion.

4) Treat yourself

It's easy to get caught up in the chaos of life and forget to enjoy the moments *you* love. So, we encourage you to do something for yourself this Valentine's Day. Whether that be relaxing your muscles in a warm magnesium-infused bath, cooking yourself a hearty meal or journaling. A healthy heart is a happy heart so prioritising yourself, is never a bad idea.

February 14 is a fantastic time to share your love with others (and yourself!). We hope you have a great day filled with lots of love, laughter, and dark chocolate-coated strawberries.
